PIG specializes in Nursing Home Abuse & Neglect Investigation.  By employing a staff of Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians and Nurses, PIG is qualified and prepared to handle any abuse or neglect case, no matter how severe. We assist several law firms in Florida, Ohio and Arizona with the investigation and litigation of nursing home and wrongful death cases.

There are several steps in investigating and preparing a case for settlement or trial.

Some of the services we offer include, but are not limited to:

		Determining if Abuse and or Neglect is present within a facility.
		The locating of witnesses and family members.
		Interviewing, evaluating and obtaining statements from witnesses.
		Prepping witnesses for sworn statements, depositions and trials.

		Completing new-case sign-up packets.
		Obtaining photographs of patient injuries.

INVESTIGATION OUTLINE:

Generally, our investigations are initiated by completing a new-case sign-up packet with the patient's next of kin, power of attorney or legal guardian.  Next, one of our trained medical photographers will obtain photographs of the patient either at the nursing home, the family's home or if necessary, at the funeral home. All injuries are documented on film with both close-up and full body shots.

During the discovery process, we will obtain a list of former employees who worked at the nursing home just prior to, during and shortly after the patient was in the facility.   

Next we move on to the interviews. We maintain a list of hundreds of questions that pertain to the nursing home industry which should be included in any interview of a potential witness. This list is tailored for each individual case in an effort to obtain detailed information from each witness with regard to the patient’s claim and/or injury. By conducting these interviews in person, we can determine the character of a witness who could possibly turn out to be a “star” witness.  In our experiences, we have found that almost all nursing homes have disgruntled employees who turn out to be great witnesses.

Finally, we will set up a meeting with the "positive" witness and the attorney so that a sworn statement can be obtained.  

While many investigative agencies would like to offer this service, the reality is it takes a large staff and many man hours to properly investigate a case of abuse/neglect.  PIG remains an innovator and leader in Nursing Home Abuse & Neglect Investigation.
