MIST Claims

Professional Investigative Group has put together a package just for MIST claims. Our investigators will take thorough photographs of the insured and claimant vehicles and provide an assessment of any damage. If the claimant vehicle is parked in a garage at night, we will locate the claimant’s place of employment and obtain discreet photographs. We obtain anywhere from 30-60 photos of a vehicle, immediately email two or three pertinent photos and send the entire set on a CD.

When conducting MIST recorded statements, we try to have the insured, claimant or witness rate the impact. One way to base the severity of the impact is to compare it to an amusement park ride. This often provides an accurate assessment of what the vehicle occupants felt.

When you assign a MIST claim to PIG, we will automatically perform the following services:

  • Obtain initial crash report (if a report was completed)
  • Identify all parties involved;
  • Obtain vehicle photos of our insured vehicle;
  • Obtain vehicle photos of the claimant vehicle;
  • Witness statements

We have created a convenient online request form for this service in which you can request a complete MIST claim investigation or you can pick and choose specific item.

Activity Checks

An Activity Check can quickly assess whether the claimant’s actual daily activities are consistent with the alleged injury and disability. Discrepancies may warrant surveillance. If the claimant is active during an Activity Check, surveillance is immediately initiated.

A typical activity check can include:

  • An initial four hours of on-site surveillance to determine if the claimant departs for work. This is generally conducted from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. If the claimant is activit, then surveillance is initiated. If the claimant is not active, we move onto the second phase, the neighborhood canvass.
  • Neighborhood inquiries are conducted using a pre-generated questionnaire. Questions are designed to help the investigator gather insight into the claimant’s daily patterns and level of activity.

SPEED LIMIT VERIFICATION

Our investigators will verify and document any speed limit signs at or near a crash scene, up to a one mile radius. Digital photographs will be obtained and emailed.

Nursing Home Abuse Investigation

Professional Investigative Group is an innovator in Nursing Home Abuse & Neglect Investigation. By employing a staff of Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians and Nurses, we are qualified and prepared to handle any abuse or neglect case, no matter how severe. We assist several law firms throughout the United States with the investigation and litigation of nursing home and wrongful death cases.

There are several steps in investigating and preparing a case for settlement or trial.

Some of the services we offer include, but are not limited to:

  • Determining if Abuse and or Neglect is present within a facility
  • The locating of witnesses and family members
  • Interviewing, evaluating and obtaining statements from witnesses
  • Prepping witnesses for sworn statements, depositions and trials
  • Analyzing charts and staffing documents
  • Assisting with Discovery
  • Assisting with Trial Preparations
  • Obtaining Cost Reports, Licensure Files and Ownership Records
  • Completing new-case sign-up packets
  • Obtaining photographs of patient injuries

INVESTIGATION OUTLINE:

Generally, our investigations are initiated by completing a new-case sign-up packet with the patient's next of kin, power of attorney or legal guardian. Next, one of our trained medical photographers will obtain photographs of the patient either at the nursing home, the family's home or if necessary, at the medical examiner's office. All injuries are documented on film with both close-up and full body shots.

During the discovery process, we will obtain a list of former employees who worked at the nursing home just prior to, during and shortly after the patient was in the facility.

Next we move on to the interviews. We maintain a list of hundreds of questions that pertain to the nursing home industry which should be included in any interview of a potential witness. This list is tailored for each individual case in an effort to obtain detailed information from each witness with regard to the patient’s claim and/or injury. By conducting these interviews in person, we can determine the character of a witness who could possibly turn out to be a “star” witness. In our experiences, we have found that almost all nursing homes have disgruntled employees who turn out to be great witnesses.

Finally, we will set up a meeting with the "positive" witness and the attorney so that a sworn statement can be obtained.

While many investigative agencies would like to offer this service, the reality is it takes a large staff and many man hours to properly investigate a case of abuse/neglect. PIG remains an innovator and leader in Nursing Home Abuse & Neglect Investigation.

In addition to investigation, we also offer new client presentations to prospective clients enabling the sharing of vital information that could mean the difference of thousands of dollars in any given case.

ASSET CHECK FAQ

Q: Will an asset check find assets in someone else’s name like a spouse or relative?

A: No. Our search is limited to the individual you requested and asset check on. If there is the possibility of a spouse or other relative having assets, an asset check should be conducted on that person.

Q: Why aren’t bank accounts included in an asset check?

A: Bank accounts are an entirely different service that is regulated on federal privacy laws. Bank account searches require you to have an active judgment in order to request this search. See our Bank Account Search service page for additional information.

Q: What makes PIG’s asset checks different from some of the cheaper competitors?

A: The most obvious answer is our investigative experience. We are not simply selling information to our clients. We are selling verified accurate information that can be used in any court proceedings. We do not just resell public database information like the bast majority of competitors. Your asset check will be conducted by an actual investigator, not a free public database.

Q: How can some agencies offer instant results but you could take weeks?

A: These agencies are doing nothing more than running your subject’s name through a public database of free records. They turn around and submit a report of whatever this database spits out. These agencies are not truly conducting an investigation and are most likely not licensed private investigators. It takes time, training and expertise to uncover and verify assets.

Q: Can I obtain a credit report on someone?

A: Only if you have a signed credit release.

Q: Can you guarantee that you will find everything?

A: No. To do so would be impossible. Not everyone has assets that can be found. There are a number of ways assets can be hidden, especially when someone is hiding from the IRS.

Q: How long will it take to receive the final report?

A: This all depends on the scope of the asset check. Once we run our initial assessment, we can gain a better idea of the amount of time it might take. If we are conducting an asset check on a 20 year old college student, it may only take a day or two. If we are conducting an asset check on a middle aged real estate investor who has property throughout the USA, it could take weeks. If anyone says they know how long an asset check will take before even starting it, they are not performing a true and accurate asset check.

Auto Accident Scene Investigation

If liability is in dispute, an auto accident scene investigation can help establish many facts. One of our trained auto accident investigator’s will diagram and photograph the auto accident scene and evaluate several factors, including points of impact to the vehicles, skid marks, roadway conditions, lighting, traffic pattern, speed limits and witness canvassing. • How long were these conditions exposed?

To stay viable and remain in business, today's firms need to be on the ball and ready to strike without delay. This is where we can help. Our agency handles new client intakes for several law firms in the Tampa bay area.

How it works:

• A prospective client calls your firm and is screened by your intake person.

• If the client has a potential case, your intake person immediately emails or phones the information into our office (24-7).

• Our intake staff contacts the client immediately and schedules an appointment for one of our professional, experienced field representatives to meet with them, at a place that is most convenient to the client, whether it's their home, office, coffeehouse or even on the side of the road!

• We attempt to meet with the prospective client within one to three hours.

• Our field representative completes the intake packet, has the contract, client bill of rights and medical releases signed. The packet is then returned to your office either same day or very next morning.

• The field representative will also take digital photos of the client and their ID as well as photos of their vehicle and injuries (if applicable). Photos are emailed to client within hours.

Our agency currently handles new client intakes for auto accidents, medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, premises liability, dog bites, etc. All too often we hear about law firms losing potential clients because they were not quick enough in getting the client to sign a contract. Avoid this scenario BY GETTING TO THEM FIRST!

In addition, we offer after-hour intake services. Are you missing potential new clients who call when your firm is closed? We take evening, weekend and holiday calls for several law firms throughout Tampa Bay including referral services such as Ask Gary and 411PAIN. We are able to screen the calls and send an intake representative out immediately - even on Sundays!

Our new client intake service is available throughout Florida. With staff throughout the state, we can be to most locations within hours.

These services are billed at a flat rate on a monthly batch invoice. Fees are based on the size of the intake packet and certain client requirements.

If we are conducting an asset check on a middle aged real estate investor who has property throughout the USA, it could take weeks. If anyone says they know how long an asset check will take before even starting it, they are not performing a true and accurate asset check.
